Festival Iminente 2026: 10 Years of Culture in Lisbon

Created in 2016, Festival Iminente has become a must-see event on Lisbon’s cultural scene. Each edition transforms iconic locations. Oeiras, Monsanto, Matinha, Terreiro do Paço, and the gardens of Palácio Pimenta have all hosted this unique festival.
After a year-long break, Festival Iminente returns in 2026. The event, blending music, street art, and urban culture, will take place from September 17 to 20, 2026, at the former Escola Industrial Afonso Domingues in Marvila. This historic site, closed for 15 years, will become the festival’s new home until 2027.
As always, the festival will revitalize the venue, located in the neighborhood favored by the artist Vhils, which already hosts the Underdogs Gallery and the Eterno Gallery.

Warm-up from 2025: A Preview of the Festival

Before the 2026 edition, the festival hosts a warm-up on September 21, 2025, at Praça do Carvão – MAAT Central. The entry is free.
The EDP Foundation partners with the festival to present the Bairros – Iminente Community Art Workshops. Artists and local communities from Lumiar, Vale de Chelas, Quinta Grande, PER9, and VMBA participated.
Visitors can enjoy exhibitions, performances, music, short films, fashion shows, and local food. They can join workshops on azulejo collage or sustainable fashion. A portable library and reading benches are also available. Locals prepare and serve traditional dishes.
The day features the Marcha da Curraleira, a musical performance by Tristany, and an upcycling fashion show by Pitanga. Bairros Music 2025 showcases young musicians. The mother-and-son duo Deejay Rifox & Tia Vivix closes the event.
